Life in Walkdown – Chacefield Wood

Chacefield Wood, near DennyWith travel restrictions still in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic many people, myself included, have taken to exploring their local area, often on foot. I have called these local excursions ‘walkdown’. This is the fourth in a series of blog posts about some of the places I’ve visited on my local meanders. Today’s location is Chacefield Wood, near Denny.

Chacefield Wood, near DennySituated between Bonnybridge and Denny and bordered on the west by the historic Drove Loan, Chacefield Wood is almost ideal walking territory. The main path through the wood is a reversed ‘P’ shape and gravel-surfaced, although there are several access paths from east and west and many minor paths within the wood itself.
A leisurely circuit of the wood along the main path is a fraction over 4km and takes about an hour, a bit longer if one stops to listen to the birdsong or take photos!
