Snowdrops and Daffodils, Helix Park, FalkirkIt’s the Easter weekend, so I thought I’d go with a daffodils (or mostly daffodils) theme to celebrate the spring. Of course, the clocks changed last weekend and we’re now in British Summer Time too!

It started with the snowdrops, of course, these heralds of early spring. Then came the crocuses as, all around, other flowers and trees were coming into bud and some into flower.

As March progressed, so did the swathes of daffodils and soon the usual locations were filled with their yellow, and occasionally white and orange, beauty. So put on your shades and prepare to be dazzled!

The next group of photos show (from top to bottom): Callendar Park, Falkirk, with Callander House in the background; Camelon War Memorial; the Union Inn at Camelon; and the ruins of Kinneil Kirk in Bo’ness, all looking rather resplendent in their spring colours.

Finally, a break from daffodils but an appropriate way to end this blog – a Forsythia spotted in Denny, a plant sometimes known as an Easter Tree. Enjoy your weekend!
